Essay 1:
When I was taking my Social Psychology class, I was lucky divided into a group that had a female student who had a skinny body shape and a malnourished appearance, grew up in a poor family. She had several jobs to do and took many shifts that our group meeting time had to adjust according to her time schedule. In addition, she did not always show up in the group meeting. Every time she wasn’t there, we gossiped about her poor family background. We showed our sympathetic to her but anyway we are careless about her condition with an indifference attitude. The higher education system doesn’t prevent the impoverished students in many ways. Our group mate, she successfully studies at the university and accepted by her bosses, given her opportunities to cover the college expenses. With the higher education system, lower income class households have an equalized place to go that gets upward mobility and compete with people who accumulate plenty of capital beforehand in the same stage. It is an equalized opportunity that all students have opportunities to make a huge difference before and after no matter how wealthy the family is, no matter what races students are, and no matter where students come from. Taking myself as an example, I never think higher education shut up the door for the poor students. Even though I didn’t come from a poor family, but my parents told me that they are no longer affording to support me enter into a graduate school when I became a senior. It seemed to me that my university education was coming to an end. However, I don’t give up. Instead, I continue preparing the test and seek opportunities that could cover my graduate school costs. If a student insists on it, eventually, he or she will get there. What exactly enlarge the class inequality? The problem is not the higher education itself.
